Our Mission

The mission of Ant's Happy Endings is to transition abandoned senior dogs to a loving, healing forever home and allow the dogs' unconditional love to connect with communities in need.

Our Story

by Jody French, Founder and President

On February 10, 2020 my world came crashing down around me when my son, Anthony, was senselessly killed by a drunk driver. He was 25 years old and newly married. His friends called him 'Ant.’

Ant was a rescuer. Over the years he brought home many who were struggling, animals and people alike. He would do anything for anyone, whether they were a homeless stranger or a close friend. He saw the good in everyone and helped others to see the best in themselves. He was authentic and genuine, with a twisted sense of humor and an infectious smile. He made a huge impact on all the lives he touched.

After his death, people began sharing stories of the many ways Ant had showed up for them, how he had given them hope and changed their lives for the better. It is my hope to keep giving back in his honor. Ant's Happy Endings is a celebration of his innate acceptance of the underdog, both animal and human, and my desire to keep doing the good he would be doing if he was still with us on this earthly plane.

Music was Ant’s love language, and his eclectic taste inspired many of the names of our permanent residents. I’m truly grateful for your support, for helping to keep Ant's memory alive and embracing the underdogs.

With love, Jody
